A Solution for Slow AutoCAD

Jan 10, 2017

Between our civil engineering and land planning services at Redland, we use an array of design software suites to help create great places.  The foremost of those systems is AutoCAD Civil 3D, which enables us to model complex sites, but can also be notorious for performance degradation on large projects. The conventional solution for slow AutoCAD processes is to upgrade hardware systems in hopes of improving performance.  However Civil 3D’s creator, Autodesk recently issued a little-known software patch in a hard-to-find spot on their website.  Redland recently installed the patch and, after two months of use, has observed drawing speed performance increases of 50-60% without any hardware upgrades.

At Redland, we strive to stay at the forefront of technological performance and productivity to maintain our industry-leading expertise.  We are happy to share this hard-to-find Autodesk-provided repair patch and have shared the link to the source page below.
