Bringing it Back to Barefoot; Redland Site Visit

May 28, 2024 , , ,

This month, Redland conducted its semi-annual company-wide site visit at Barefoot Lakes. Barefoot Lakes is a master-planned residential community located within the city of Firestone, a comfortable and growing neighborhood accentuated by its featured lakes and amenities. The Redland team headed north to take a closer look at the past, present, and future of this project which Redland has been a part of dating back to the early day of the firm in 2008.

The company-wide site visit is a training focused event that places station leaders in four locations across the project site. Redland breaks into groups and sets out to learn from peers. Station One took a deep dive into the makings of community recreation spaces and their landscape design. Station Two revolved around the planning and entitlement process, showing how the initial design can evolve over time. Station Three and Four took a more technical look at the engineering and construction of drop structures and a pedestrian underpass, while discussing drainage, overflow routes and erosion control.

These site visits promote a collaborative and constructive format where associates can get out of the office to see their hard work firsthand. Barefoot Lakes is a project that has been with Redland for a long time, and we are proud of the beautiful community it has developed into. We value these experiences and look forward to re-visiting Barefoot Lakes when the next phase is complete.
