Swedish Medical Center created a Neurology Hospital within their existing campus. This project included the addition of 2 new floors to the South Tower and infilling 2 floors to the CCU Tower which added 40 beds and a Neurology lobby and reception. The infill of the lower 2 floors of the CCU Tower required the relocation of the City Ditch. This irrigation ditch, which was originally constructed in 1867, is maintained by the City of Englewood and the relocation required careful coordination with the building design, adjacent driveways and new retaining walls to provide proper cover of the 36-inch pipe which conveys the irrigation water through the Swedish Medical Center site.
